Eligibility

Eligibility*

The goal of the Johnathan T. Leonard Memorial Scholarship for Architecture is to provide an annual financial award payable in the fall to undergraduate students pursuing a degree in architecture and have a financial need. Applicants must be at least 21-years of age and a high school graduate or hold a GED and be enrolled in or accepted for enrollment at an institution of higher learning. In addition, applicants who possess previous college credit must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and must be in in “good standing” with the institution they are currently or previously enrolled in and able to take courses without penalty. Applicants as well as the scholarship selection committee will also take into consideration the fact that individual departments may have higher GPA thresholds than the scholarship minimum in order for a student to remain a major in architecture, take advanced course work, or graduate with a degree in architecture. Additional consideration will be given by the scholarship selection committee to continuing education undergraduate students who are underrepresented minorities in the field of architecture as well as low socioeconomic status students.

*This award (or grant) is not intended to discriminate against any applicant based upon race, ethnicity, religion, or gender and seeks to comply with the provisions contained in Internal Revenue Code 4945(g).
